Pretty silver teardrop floral earrings, the pattern is called Carnation! The ear wires are sterling silver and the teardrops are fine silver, which is 999 percent silver rather than sterling's 925, fine works very well for earrings and doesn't tarnish easily not that that matters in this case as I have patinated the earrings for a dramatic effect and then burnished the raised parts of the pattern so that they shine and shimmer! If you haven't come across metal clay before it starts it's life out as clay or powder one can turn into clay and is made up of fine silver particles and a small part is binder or clay and it can be patterned, shaped, sculpted and much more besides and then it is fired, if it is silver it can be fired by hand but I fire mine in a kiln and when it is fired the binder burns away and the metal particles fuse together to create a solid metal, this could be fine silver (as in this case), sterling silver, bronze, copper and a few more besides clever stuff, originally thought up by the Japanese and now made all over the world. The teardrop earrings are 4.2cm from the top of the hook and 1.8cm at the widest point and the drop length of the teardrop is 2.7cm in inches that is one and five eighths from the top of the hook, just over five eighths wide and just over an inch for the drop. The hooks are nice and long and the earrings are lovely and light to wear.
