Buddleia Flower Round Silver Earrings

£34.50
Fine silver, sterling silver
3.4cm long x 1.7cm wide

I just love the flowers on a Buddleia or Butterfly Bush, so pretty and just as pretty when they are in bud which is when I took a mould of them in summer as I knew I would be able to make some jewellery from them!

Buddleia symbolises new beginnings, moving on and rebirth.

I have made round earrings and put them with a nice square shaped sterling silver ear fittings with good long backs! The earrings are 3.4cm long from the top of the hook and 1.7cm wide as it the drop length, in inches that is 1 3/8 from the top of the hook and 5/8 of an inch wide as is the drop length.
I have lightly patinated the earrings and then burnished the raised parts to highlight the raised parts.

The circles are made from fine silver metal clay which is 99.9% silver and the ear wires are sterling silver which is 92.5% silver. Silver metal clay starts it's life as fine silver particles mixed with a binder, it can then be sculpted, moulded, textured and all sorts besides, it is then left to dry and finally fired whereupon the binder burns away and the particles sinter or fuse together creating a solid silver piece.
