Bark textured silver earrings, natural botanical earrings, the more petite of my three bark styles, they have a lovely depth to the texture and are still 4cm (just over 1 1.2 inches) from the top of the ear wire, so not too petite, the drop from the bottom of the ear wire is 2.8cm (1 1/8 inch) and they are 1.1cm (3/8 inch) wide. I found the pieces of bark on the ground near various trees in our garden and thought they all had interesting shapes and textures, so I made moulds from them and created earrings using fine silver metal clay. They have good long sterling silver ear wires to keep them in place.
If you haven't come across metal clay it was first created by the Japanese back in 1990 in gold and then in turn silver, it is microscopic particles of silver mixed into a binder, it can be sculpted, textured, rolled etc. it is then fired whereupon the binder burns away and the particles fuse together or sinter into a metal piece.
