A pretty pair of rectangular panel gold vermeil earrings with a floral texture, they have that fun boho feel to them, softly embossed with leaves and swirl like plumes, made from fine silver and then thickly plated in 24 carat/karat gold, hence the richness of the colour. The last terrific photo is of a pair of these rectangular panels on my lovely customer Blue, who kindly sent me the shot!
The earrings are approximately 4cm from the top of the hook (1 5/8 inches), 1cm wide (3/8 inch), and the drop length from the bottom of the hook is 2.8cm (1 1/8 inch). Light and easy to wear with a nice long back on the sterling silver earring hook.
They are made from fine silver metal clay which can be sculpted or patterned or rolled etc. and which starts life out as fine silver particles with a clay binder and as the pieces are fired the binder burns away and the particles fuse together leaving just a silver item, in this case fine silver which is 999 percent silver rather than sterling which is 925 percent silver. Clever stuff first created by the Japanese and now produced in all sorts of places and can be bought in bronze, copper, sterling, gold etc..
I love metal clay and the textures that can be created on a piece but please note it is not like milled metal sheet which can be made very smooth and is often highly polished.
