More edelweiss earrings but this time a pair of stud earrings! The pretty Edelweiss flower earrings are taken from a vintage button I bought, made from fine silver metal clay , the stud post is sterling silver. They are 1.7cm in diameter (5/8 of an inch). If you have not come across metal clay before it starts life out as microscopic particles of metal mixed with a binder and it can be rolled, textured, sculpted and much more, it is dried and then fired, the binder burns away and you are left with a metal piece! it comes in all sorts of metals these days but I have used fine silver which is 99.9% pure but there are bronze clays, copper clays, iron clays, you name it is available!
