A little bit different pair of handcrafted silver stud earrings, with a leaf impression. I have been gathering all sorts of plant material from the garden and my walks to make moulds with, including leaves with good veining on them, I used one of those leaf moulds to make this pair of earrings, I thought they would make a nice pair of good sized studs. They are handmade from fine silver metal clay, which is tiny particles of fine silver (99.9% purity, sterling is 92.5%) which is mixed with a clay binder and then textured, shaped, sculpted etc., once dried it is then fired where the clay binder burns away and the metal particles fuse together leaving a solid silver piece, first created by the Japanese and now produced in all sorts of metals! The earrings are approximately 1.8cm long and 1.3cm wide, in inches that is 3/4 of an inch by nearly 1/2 an inch.
Each pair is a little different to the next, you will receive a pair similar to the photo.
I love metal clay but please note it does not come out like a smooth milled sheet of metal at the end of all the processes, I feel this is part of it’s charm and it is solid metal of whichever type it is made from.
