'Strawberry Thief' Bird Pendant

£57.00
Fine silver, sterling silver posts
2.7cm high x 2.9cm wide

A pretty picture silver pendant of a bird stealing a strawberry, hence 'The Strawberry Thief' title! The bird is on a trellis with flowers all around. This pendant is created from a lovely vintage button in fine silver metal clay (very pure silver 99.9%) with a decent sized sterling (92.5%) silver rolo chain (also know as a belcher), finished with a good sized carabiner clasp. If you haven't come across metal clay before it starts like out as tiny particles of metal mixed with a binder to give it a clay consistency, it can be sculpted, or patterned or formed etc., it is then fired and the binder burns away and the metal particles fuse together creating a metal piece. There are all sorts of metal clays out there now, silver, bronze, copper and even gold (if you can afford it!). The pendant is approximately 2.7cm tall (just over an inch) and 2.9cm wide (1 1/8 inch) and the chain is 47cm or just over 18 inches long.
I love metal clay and the textures that can be created on a piece but please note it is not like milled metal sheet which can be made very smooth and is often highly polished.
Please note you may note receive the pendant in the photos but it will be one very similar to it!
