If you like your butterflies this is another to add to your collection, a pretty bronze tortoiseshell butterfly, or my version of one! The pattern of the butterfly is raised and burnished, giving it a two dimensional look and the wings are curved also. There is a sterling silver diamond cut belcher chain soldered to each wing. It is a nice light necklace, not heavy to wear. The butterfly is 4.5cm wide and 2cm high and the chain is 45.5cm in total or in inches it is one and three quarters by seven eighths and an 18 inch chain 99 inches on each wing.
The butterfly has been made from bronze metal clay and has a lovey soft golden colour to it which will develop patinas over time and go more of the bronze one expects it to be as it is bronze, I like the colours bronze metal clay starts to turn but if you want to keep it more golden in colour I have found a good buff with a silver cloth will bring it back to a golden colour.
