Silver pendants with a lovely textured surface of solar/planets and stars system, created by using a wax seal stamp and then gently patinated for that vintage look, a great present for him or her! I have left some of the edges not quite as they came out when stamped but along the lines of that and although not very apparent in the photos as it is so difficult to show a shiny surface I have burnished the raised parts so they pop out from the background! The pendant is made from fine silver metal clay, so it's purity is 99.9% silver the 1.2mm snake chain is made from sterling silver which for sterling is 92.5% and has a good weight to it, it is 18 inches long.
If you haven't come across metal clay before it starts it's life as tiny particles of silver mixed with a clay binder, so it feels like a clay when working with it, you can do all sorts with it, endless possibilities! The Japanese first created it in a fine silver form and since then there is now a myriad of metals available in metal clay! This piece is made from Art Clay Silver and they make their clay from recycled silver, so it is very eco friendly too!
The pendants are approximately 2.7cm high from the top of the jump ring, the actual pendant itself being approximately 2.2cm, the width is 2.2cm. In inches that is just over and inch tall from the top of the jump ring, the pendant being just under 7 eighths of an inch.
I love metal clay and the textures that can be created on a piece but please note it is not like milled metal sheet which can be made very smooth and is often highly polished.
