Compass Wax Seal Pendant in fine silver

£41.00
Fine silver , sterling silver
3cm tall x 2.6cm wide

A handmade compass pendant created using a wax seal, made in fine silver metal clay and patinated for that vintage look, it hangs from a sterling silver ball chain with a good sized carabiner clasp. I have polished the raised central part of the design and left the edges with a raw look to them as I felt that suited it, this finish does not compromise the strength of the pendant, if you prefer a smooth edge I can do one of those too just message me. If you haven't come across silver metal clay before it was first created by the Japanese back in 1990 in gold and then in turn silver, it is microscopic particles of silver mixed into a binder, it can be sculpted, textured, rolled etc. it is then fired whereupon the binder burns away and the particles fuse together or sinter into a solid metal piece.
I love metal clay and the textures that can be created on a piece but please note it is not like milled metal sheet which can be made very smooth and is often highly polished.
The height of the pendant from the top of the jump ring is approximately 3cm (1 1/4 inches), it is 2.6cm (1 inch) wide and the chain length is 46cm which is about 18 inches.
